Course Info

Thriving as a modern-day DJ entails much more than a refined musical sense alone. There are specific indispensable tools and DJ techniques that every aspiring DJ ought to possess. These instruments will help you elevate your performance, and help you have a successful career as a DJ.

DJing requires combining technology, musicality, and taste. The on-campus course on DJ Essentials from renowned faculty at 1500 Sound Academy teaches DJ basics for beginners, the fundamentals of digital digging, music organization, mixing, equipment, the history of DJing as an art form, and the essentials you need to embark on a career in the industry.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Set up and operate DJ controller

  • Prepare and organize tracks in Serato DJ Pro

  • Download and organize music from online resources

  • Utilize digital audio effects to manipulate audio files

  • Use DJ techniques to seamlessly blend tracks in a mix

DJ Fundamentals

DJ Fundamentals kick-starts an aspiring DJ’s career faster than any other program in Los Angeles.  Students of this program are ready for paid gigs after only three months of learning and practice.  Beginner, aspiring or intermediate DJs are a great fit for this program.  All elements of DJing are covered, such as controllers, CDJs & mixers, DJ Performance, going live on Twitch, music business and DJ branding.

There are two Enrollment Options:

  • Full Program (6 Courses). The full program costs $12,500 and includes six courses.

  • Individual Course(s). Choosing individual courses costs $2,250 per course.

Each course within the program is four weeks long.  Enrollment in the entire program is six months in duration. DJ Fundamentals courses are not offered online.  Partial VA Benefits may be applied to the DJ Fundamentals program. Financing options are available.
